The purpose of the Labsite Student Study (LSS) is to collect in-depth background information on students at the Lab School.  Each year information is collected on:

Data from the Labsite Student Study are designed to complement the classroom based data collected in the Lab School classes.  In conjunction with classroom data, LSS data are used to conduct research on:

• English language acquisition (oral and written) during and after ESL program participation
• Program participation patterns and the reasons for them
• Long-term language development that is related to experiments conducted at the Lab School
• Individual learner characteristics and language acquisition
